On October 20, 2024, GROU Coffee + Cowork proudly participated in Parking Day, a global initiative that reimagines public space — transforming traditional parking spots into vibrant community zones.
As one of the local businesses selected by the City of Coral Gables to activate the streets, we turned our spot into a mini outdoor lounge: complete with matcha tastings, chill music, and of course, the best avocado toast in Coral Gables.
☕ Community, Coffee, and Coworking in the Street
The goal was to spark dialogue about how urban space is used and encourage more sustainable, people-centered design. At GROU, we believe a café is more than just a place to grab coffee — it’s a hub for creativity, connection, and social change.
Visitors enjoyed:

· Outdoor seating and conversations led by local entrepreneurs
· Free coworking day passes (a hit with freelancers!)
· A chance to learn more about how we support local makers and host public events
