This website, groucommunity.com (the “Site”), is operated by GROU COMMUNITY COMPANY (“GROU,” “we,” “us”), a Florida company with principal address at 2101 Brickell Ave Apt 2312, Miami, FL 33129, USA, EIN 84-4579837. We run the GROU Coffee + Cowork café in Coral Gables, Florida.

Information you give us directly: when you submit a contact, catering or careers form, join GROU Loyalty, sign up for our newsletter or popup offers, or register for an event, we collect the details you provide: typically your name, email address, phone number, company name, event date and message.

Information collected automatically: like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies (including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity, when enabled) that collect usage data such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and referral source. This helps us understand how the Site is used and measure our marketing.

Session recordings and heatmaps: we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use the Site, through behavioral metrics, heatmaps and session replays (such as clicks, taps, mouse movements, scrolling and the pages you view). Clarity uses first and third-party cookies and similar technologies. What you type into form fields is masked in your browser before anything is sent, so the text itself does not reach Clarity: it receives masked characters and a short checksum of what you typed. We do not send Clarity the consent record described in Section 6. Clarity can still record that you used a field and which boxes you tick, including the email and SMS consent boxes. Microsoft also collects this information, to provide Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising, and may use it for its own purposes, such as improving its products and services and building advertising profiles. We do not collect payment information on this Site. Online orders, shop purchases and event registrations are processed by third-party platforms (see Section 4).

To respond to your inquiries and provide quotes (catering, events, careers); to send you newsletters, offers and community updates you signed up for; to operate, analyze and improve the Site and our marketing; and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do let the analytics and advertising tools named in Section 2 (Google, Meta and Microsoft) collect data about your use of the Site, and they may use it for their own purposes, including advertising, as described in Section 5.

Some features link to or rely on third parties with their own privacy policies, including: GetSauce (online ordering for pickup/delivery and catering), our online shop, the GROU mobile app and loyalty program (powered by Como), Apple App Store and Google Play, Google Maps, YouTube, Instagram and other social platforms, Supabase (data hosting) and Cloudflare (site infrastructure).

When you order, register or create an account on those platforms, the information you provide is governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Apart from the analytics and advertising tools described below, we share personal information only with service providers that help us operate the Site and our business (such as hosting and email tools), when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer. Service providers may only use your information to provide services to us. The analytics and advertising tools named in Section 2 (Google, Meta and Microsoft) are not limited in that way: they collect usage data from your browser and, for some actions, from our servers, and may use it for their own purposes, including advertising, under their own privacy policies.

SMS opt-in data and consent, which include your mobile number, are shared more narrowly, as described in Section 6.

How we collect your mobile number: when you give it on a form on the Site (for example, the GROU Loyalty signup or a popup offer) or when you join GROU Loyalty at the café. We use it to find your GROU Loyalty membership, to reply to requests you send us and, only if you tick the SMS consent box, to send you recurring automated marketing texts with offers, events and news from GROU Coffee. When you consent on the Site, we keep a record of it: the wording you agreed to, when you agreed, and the IP address and device it came from. That record, together with your mobile number, is what this policy means by SMS (text messaging) opt-in data and consent.

We do not share your mobile number, SMS opt-in data or consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share them only with the service providers that send our texts, run our loyalty program, host our data and deliver our email on our behalf, and they may use them only for that. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never sold or shared with any other third party.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time; you can also opt out by writing to contact@groucommunity.com. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase. See the SMS terms in our Terms of Service.

We keep form submissions and subscriber information for as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize them. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, though no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link, and of marketing texts by replying STOP, or in either case by writing to us. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work, though some analytics will not. Disabling cookies does not stop Microsoft Clarity: it still records page views and interactions, only without linking them into one visit. To opt out of Clarity, choose Microsoft at https://optout.aboutads.info/ or turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise them, email contact@groucommunity.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version; material changes will be posted on this page.
